THE HISTORY OF ECOS CHOCEŇ S.R.O.

started in 1990 when a company owned by private individuals was established. It was transformed into a private limited company as a result of its development in 1996. In 1991–1998, its business focused predominantly on engineering production and repairs, namely the design and production of catalytic converters for diesel engines and anti-corrosion treatment of vehicles. This scope of activities gradually broadened to include building of components and assemblies for the automotive industry – especially buses. The business was originally conducted in rented premises, but in 1998 ECOS purchased the site of a former brewery in Choceň for its ever-expanding production. This site was later reconstructed into 3 modern production halls, staff sanitary facilities and an office building. At that time (1998), ECOS started producing components for different model families of Karosa buses. Hand in hand with further growth and with winning further orders, co-operation with a German partner was established in 2001 focusing on the design and production of special-purpose superstructures for Fiat Ducato frames.
